Cabin redesign added a few weeks to the schedule but we are still progressing well. The cabin roof support structure was completed with cabin side and front plate installed In late December. Curves were formed in the cabin top side plates to add strength and give a better non box-like look.

All cabin plate is now fitted and internal beams installed to stop flex in new roof. Two pipe supports fitted which will also serve as hand holds in the cabin fitted at client’s request. The original cabin design has a generous curve built in so doesn’t necessitate the beams or roof supports. The cabin has been fully welded.

Cabin window apertures were marked out and cut, two of the forward windows will be able to open. The side windows will be clear polycarbonate full length of the cabin side.

Tanks and cockpit deck is installed and all under deck supports/frames have been fully welded. Pipes for cockpit scuppers are fitted.

Midship deck plates cut, fitted and tacked in. Forward decks have been cut, fitted and tacked with hatch apertures also cut. Full welding of the decks should be completed by the end of January.

Our English wheel being used for forming the hull bottom plate is finished but being used manually while waiting for a hydraulic power pack to arrive. The hydraulics will drive the bottom roller and make this work easier

Dagger boards have been fabricated and welded.

Some weld examples, downhand, vertical and overhead, plate thickness is 3mm and 4mm. Welds will just be cleaned up not fully sanded off.
